Dear friend,
SO MANY are still suffering in the aftermath of great devastation from the February 6, 2023 earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The World Health Organization estimates that 26 million people need assistance across both countries. More than 50,000 deaths have been reported across the affected area! Estimates vary, but the UN reports that 1.5 million families are homeless in the wake of the earthquake. More than 100,000 are recovering from injuries, with limited healthcare.
Here is a report posted one month after the disaster:

The entire region is saddened and sobered. Many more buildings have to be demolished to prevent further injury. Damage to infrastructure places many at risk of exposure to water-borne diseases such as Hepatitis A and Cholera. Family separation and loss brings immeasurable sorrow and leaves many vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. Children are unable to return to school. In northern Syria, this catastrophe has added trauma to an already ongoing crisis from poverty and war. Lord, have mercy!
The needs are MANY:
Shelter
Clean water
Medical care
Wisdom for government
Restoration of families
Provision of workers
Mental health
Spiritual awakening
Peace and comfort
We add our cry to the voices of the suffering, for mercy and relief.
“Thank you Lord, that when we approach Your throne of grace, You have promised to release Your grace and mercy to help in time of need. We bring before You this devastation in Turkey and Syria, and ask for Your favor towards all those who work to bring restoration and provision in this place. May their leaders be upright and strong, their families and homes be restored, and their communities be aware of your hand of mercy upon them. Release healing winds and the dawn of new things. We declare that the earth is the Lord’s, and we bless this place in Jesus’ name. Amen."

It is so sad! So many innocent people are suffering. I can pray, though, and have been, for the people there!
So many awful things are happening! I’m convinced the Lord will be here fairly soon! Of course, we don’t know when.
Thank you for the update and your prayer.
