I was at the donut shop yesterday with my daughter. It took us awhile to decide
which of the 3 dough shaped jewels we were going to devour.
At the check out  I put a tip in the box and said, “God Bless you,” to the woman who served us.
Her response caught me off guard when she stopped everything and leaned over the counter, “OH thank you SO much.”
It was almost like we gave HER the donuts. You and I never know when a moment of thoughtfulness will be just what someone needs.
If you’re not comfortable saying, “God bless you,” then you can say, “have a great day,” “thanks for your help today” and add a smile (and always add a tip 🙂
Every day brings piles of “have too’s” and the rush & push of urgent things. Amid the hubbub don’t forget to LOVE.
Dr Seuss wrote, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Take a minute to listen to 1 Corinthians 13, the Bible chapter on love:
And when you’re buying donuts (or ice cream for that matter) be sure to show some kindness.
