Have you ever answered this question: What do you really know for sure? It’s good to ask yourself this question. To do a weigh-in and find out where you’re at.

What do I know for sure? I know that God is light. Pure, unpolluted, radiant light. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) The Good Shepherd has met me in waves of light through every disappointment, trial and sorrow. This is something I GRASP, and something that grasps me.

What do you know for sure? Think about it. And feel free to share that with us in the comment section below. We love to hear from you.

Today I’m sharing an audio reading of a handpicked selection of scriptures on this theme ‘God is light’. May you receive strength as you listen to this.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.  If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.   …He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.  This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

This work is dependent on donors like you. Many groups will raise 30% of their annual budget during this end-of-year season. I love to see the generosity of people and how their partnership makes so much more possible. Even if your budget is too tight to give, would you please say a prayer of blessing over our efforts? It means a lot to me.
