Dear friend,

All great adventures include intrigue and mystery. The Lord surprised me by sharing a little about the mystery of this pandemic.

What He showed me gave me strength and hope. So, if you could use something along those lines keep reading.

Wow & Whoa, Rainbows

Several weeks ago there was a radiant series of rainbows that glistened across the sky outside my front door. Just as the sun was inching over the mountains a shower of musical rain rolled across the prairies igniting a brilliant set of double rainbows.

I stood in awe. The only place I’ve ever seen such vibrant colors was near the seashore. And the whole scene lingered, which gave me a lot of time to capture it on my camera. The next morning I did something I don’t think I’ve ever done. I opened my photo file and began to share with God how beautiful this display of rainbows were. In the middle of that He said, “This is a show, and TELL.” Oh.

I closed the photo file and said, “Speak Lord.” He asked me, “when did the first rainbow appear?”

Happy this was an easy question I blurted, “Noah’s arc.” The rainbow was a sign of God’s promise to never destroy mankind with a flood. Genesis chapters 7 and 8 unfold the context and content of this incredible story. While reading these chapters, I remembered Jesus said something about the days of Noah in the gospel's.

God’s List of Things for YOU to Do

I found His words in Matthew 24, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark…”

So the Lord described the end days as a season when everyone is pursuing business as usual.

And as you read through Matthew 24 and 25 you will discover a clear list of what you and I are supposed to be doing if we are in, “the end times.”

Here is an Abbreviated List from Matthew 24:
- Watch out that no one deceive you.
- See to it that you are not alarmed.
- There will be persecution.
- This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world.

There are more things in Matthew 24 and 25 that are clear action steps.

Don't be taken off guard! God gives us clear instructions on what to do when the end is near

In a Nutshell

Are these the last days? The Bible says no one knows the times. The good news is if you believe it’s the last days then scripture shines a flash light on the practical ways you can prepare.

At the very least I believe you and I can agree this is NOT business as usual.

If you don’t want to be deceived or swallowed up by fear, take time every day in God’s word. It’s your spiritual bread.

If you want to be prepared for persecution take time with God in worship. His Presence makes all the difference.

And in the midst of this pandemic get busy seeing the gospel go out into the nations. You can pray. You can support those who are going. And you can go (after travel restrictions).

Conclusion

God’s throne has not shifted one inch. Though the nations are trembling and fires are raging and hurricanes are threatening, our God sits solidly from the place where He rules the universe.

This is good news.

And if you are a follower of Jesus, no matter what happens down here, YOU are on your way home.

In His love and mine,

Kathleen
