Suffering is a part of this life. It happens in a broken world that is not fully reconciled to God. It happens to believers, and it happens to non-believers. It happens physically through sickness and injury, it happens mentally and it happens emotionally through abuse, belief of lies, loss and grief.

Are you suffering today? I want to say something encouraging in a time that can be very discouraging. Every piece of suffering that is dedicated to God becomes a thing of beauty that the Lord will transform into a jewel. When this happens, that piece of suffering in your life will add a great value to you, actually purchasing power through God’s presence. He not only beautifies the wounds of the afflicted, but He redeems. And when He redeems there is a beauty that emerges and you will discover a strength of compassion you never possessed before.

You might not be in a season of suffering but it eventually comes for all of us. So if you are suffering, may the God of all comfort minister to you right now as you read the verses below.

“Praise be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we ourselves have received from God.”
– 2 Corinthians 1:3

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and to those who are called according to His purpose.”
– Romans 8:28

“Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper! You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”
– Psalm 30:10-12
