One day, I got a text message that a good friend of mine, a colleague in India was dying and so I contacted three people who I thought would care about the situation. She’s in her early fifties and doing an amazing work for Jesus in a difficult area of India with underprivileged people when she got a viral fever. She was going down and I was suddenly aware that she was not going to make it.

Psalm 68:20 says, “God is a god to us of deliverances and to God the Lord belong escapes from death.”

I just want to encourage you to always step in and pray when you feel like something untimely is occurring. Use your authority as a blood-bought son or daughter of the Living God and ask for life, ask for breakthrough, and ask for an escape from death. If in situations you don’t get an escape from death and you feel slightly discouraged, go back to the cross and say, “Lord, You’re the Boss. You’re the One that grants escapes from death. I don’t understand why, but I trust You and I will continue to take my position of authority before Your throne of grace for people and situations as You bring them to my attention.”

Let’s not slack off because you never know how your prayers might impact the outcome. And let me tell you, my friend, Dr. Mallika is in the recovery mode now! She’s getting stronger and stronger each day and will soon be out of the hospital. So you never know. Press in, stand firm, be faithful!

“He is a Rewarder of those who seek His face.”
