“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” -2 Corinthians 2:14

Today’s Word:

One of my friends has a body lotion called, “licking the beaters” and every time that she wears it, she smells like a cupcake coming fresh out of the oven. It made me realize that when there is a fragrance in the air, it gets your attention. The aroma draws you and takes you somewhere. It creates interest, hunger, and awakening. Your nose leads you to that place.

Interestingly enough, six years ago, the fragrance industry in U.S. alone was worth 22 billion dollars.

Look at what the Bible says about fragrance: fragrance and love; fragrance and giving; fragrance and sacrifice; the incense of prayer; and the fragrance of salvation. When Christ’s life is in you, you can bring His fragrance wherever you go. Let’s be sure that the fragrance we leave behind us reflects the glory of Christ!

Scripture:

“Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” -John 12:3

“To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?” -2 Corinthians 2:16

“Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” -Ephesians 5:2
