“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” -Psalms 32:8

Today’s Word:
My precious child, I am not the God who stands far away from you, I am the God who is near and my ear is open to your cry. My name is Immanuel, which means, ‘God with you’. When you feel that no one understands, remember that I completely understand and extend my open arms to your concerns. Pour out your heart to Me, for I am ready to listen to you. I will instruct you on what you should do, where you should go, and what you should say; My word will be a lamp that shines upon your path and My Spirit is a very present help in time of trouble.

Have I not told you, that I AM the Wonderful Counselor, the One Who will instruct you day and night. Even this I have said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’

Today I call you to identify your burdens and outline the details of each one. Then cast each one into My arms; let My shoulders take the weight, and work out the solutions. I will show you what you are to do but then you must let Me do what only I can do. Draw near to Me now, for I am waiting for you.

Scripture:
Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”– which means, “God with us.”

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Psalms 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

Introduction: Author’s Note

Draw Near was inspired by God and has been soaked in prayer. I thank God for everyone of you who prayed for this, because this booklet is charged up with His Presence. Even while I was proofreading it, I could feel God’s Presence, many times tugging on me to drop the work and draw near to Him. That’s really the whole point of this book, to help you encounter God.

Each entry is portable or post it size, it can easily fit in your Bible, and you will find that it is full of the Scriptures too. Life is busy and demanding, no doubt, but connecting with God is something you can’t afford to miss.

If you want destiny, fulfillment, joy, love, peace, well, it really begins and ends in your friendship with Him.

He invites you even now, just as I do, to dive into these pages and draw near to Him. One thing for certain, you won’t regret it.

In His love and mine, ~K.D.
