“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12: 1-2

Today’s Word:

From Corrie ten Boom, Holocaust survivor and author of, “The Hiding Place” (Available HERE on Amazon.com.)

“So often people say to me ‘Oh, but Corrie you have a great faith!’ But I have not a great faith. I have a small faith, but it is a faith in a great God! It is not written in the Bible, “Let us look unto our faith.” In Hebrews 12 it says, “Let us look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Look around and be distressed, look within, and be depressed, look at Jesus and be at rest.

“I had a jewelry store, before the war. Sometimes I had a new watch in my store that did not run well. I never repaired it, but I sent it back to the manufacturer. I wrote them a letter, ‘That new watch did not run well, will you repair it?’ And after the manufacturer had repaired it, it was always absolute exact. When my faith doesn’t work, I don’t try to repair it, I send it back to the manufacturer. Jesus, the author and the manufacturer of my faith! And when Jesus repairs it, it always works. Don’t look unto your faith, but unto Jesus.”

Scripture:

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” -Matthew 17:20

“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

“If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” -2 Timothy 2:13
