Jesus said, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” -John 15:15-16

Today’s Word:
My beloved one, the choice belongs to you and the question is: who do you trust? If you trust in yourself, your resources will fall short; if you trust in another, you will also find lack. Consider My word, ‘in You they trusted and were not disappointed.’ For one thing is true: your balance and the stability of your walk hangs on where you place your trust. If you lean upon your own resources, then the weight of that will press you to strive, and will drive you further from My help. If you press your needs upon another person, then this too will create anxiety and distance in your walk with Me. For it is written, ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.’

Though I can ordain a person to supply your needs, let that indeed come from My design and not your own. And though it is true, that sometimes you will possess the strength for the needs that you face, let that also come from Me and not from your limited resources. For My word says, ‘an anxious heart weighs a man down.’ Why should you walk like a beggar when you are a child of the King? Yes, consider who I am, and consider who you are to Me. For I have not called you, ‘slave’ but rather ‘friend’ and ‘child’.

I am the Lord and Master of everything, and you belong to Me. You are My precious and beloved one. The more that you trust in Me, the more you will hold the posture of one who belongs to royalty. You will lift your face and your shoulders and walk in the dignity, strength and security that I have provided for you. Draw near to Me and consider these things for I am waiting.
