Since 1976, there have been a total of 17 government shutdowns in the United States. Though it’s easy to complain, lets put our energies into something that will actually help…PRAYER.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.” -1 Timothy 2:1-3

“Lord Jesus, we remember that the governments of the world have been placed on Your shoulders and we come to You now on behalf of the United States. Forgive us for yielding to criticism and contributing to the disunity that is so prevalent right now. We turn from this and turn to YOU – the judge of all the earth, who always does right.

For the members of Congress, the Senate, and President Trump, we ask for clarity and godly counsel in making decisions that affect the country. In the name of Jesus, we bind anything that has been demonically inspired to create chaos and confusion. We pray that You would open the hearts and ears of every person to hear the wisdom from above which is peaceable and without hypocrisy.

We bind ourselves to Your ways and not to the ways of man. We submit to Your love and truth, and not our opinion. We choose prayer over criticism and we will rely on You to make what is wrong, right. May our prayers be like a mighty wind that clears the forces of division. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
