I’ve been trying to figure out a problem that is complicated. The problem is, how do I get you to pray about terrorism before you’re in the middle of an event that affects you?

Woman in line at planeIt all seems so far away from us, until it isn’t. Right?

On my recent outreach into S.E. Asia, I stopped in France to get a better understanding of how believers there are praying. This was two weeks before the terrible bombings in Brussels. I never was able to get a clear answer on this question.

As you listen to analysts, government, and military officials, it is not about IF it’s going to happen, it’s about WHEN and where.

The reality is, anyone who is willing to go into a civilian situations with a bomb strapped to their body is hard to catch. And the truth is, if we think this will never hit our city, town, or neighborhood we might be right or we might be mistaken.

You know that my take on terrorism is: PRAYER NOT FEAR. It is impossible to see the violent loss of life and not realize how evil terrorism is. Prayer plays an important role seeing this evil halted.

SO, I have come up with one solution that I wanted to run by you. Let me know if this works (and feel free to write up your own practical ideas in the comment section).

Each week say a prayer for your:

  • Local airport.
  • The closest international airport to your residence.
  • Train or tram transportation (if this is near you).
  • Local stadiums and conference halls (especially when they are in use).
  • Local police, firefighters, and emergency personnel.

Let’s do our part in the prayer room. It makes a difference every time.

Together before Him,
Kathleen

Prayer

“Lord, we offer ourselves to be spiritual watchmen on the wall of our regions. We declare your word ‘The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it,’ and together we ask, ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ We bind the forces of wickedness that seek to kill, steal and destroy. We say ‘NO,’ in Jesus name.

We declare that Jesus came to give life and to give it abundantly. May your divine protection and help be over all of our domestic and international airports, and with each security person, law enforcement, and staff connected to our transportation facilities. We lift our local airports up by name right now ___________, we are asking for angelic help to protect, to detect danger, and to direct justice. Let supernatural intervention cut through every plan to cause harm. Give each person called to take a step to intervene come under great peace and courage. We recognize You, Lord, as the One who protects and together, we seek Your help through prayer. We thank you for the privilege that we can be a part of the solution through our prayers. And we thank you that you are a Rewarder of those who seek you. May God bless (name of your nation)____________, to watch and care over my people in this season. In Jesus name, amen.”
